    Marianne Tyler    
  Marianne is ResCen's Senior Administrator and Research Assistant. Her role within ResCen is to oversee and manage all administrative and functional aspects of the Centre, as well as assisting with and monitoring a number of ResCen projects.

Marianne has worked in a variety of music and arts management organisations both in community and professional environments including StreetWise Opera, IAMA (International Artist Managers Association) and The Alexandra String Quartet. She holds an MA in Cultural Management from City University London.

In addition to her work at ResCen, Marianne is also a professional cellist and teacher. She studied the cello for her undergraduate degree at The Royal Academy of Music, and as a postgraduate student at the Royal Northern College of Music and Liszt Academy in Budapest, Hungary.

She is a founder member of the Alexandra String Quartet, which was established in 1990. The quartet performs for weddings and functions, as well as in a variety of London venues including the Ivy Restaurant, Royal Academy of Arts’ annual dinner and the Victoria and Albert Museum. She has worked on a series of electro-acoustic concerts called Landscape with composer Alfred Knittel, directed by Endre Szkarosi, in the Budapest Autumn Festival at the Almassi Cultural Centre, Budapest, and in the Polonia Express Festival at the Palace of Fine Art, Budapest.

Marianne has performed as a soloist at various venues in the UK and Eastern Europe. Recent London recital venues include Burgh House and Lauderdale House. Marianne's studio work includes sessions for Radio 4’s Smash Hits and Star for a Night on LWT. She has also recorded and appeared in Stephen Poliakoff’s BBC drama Friends and Crocodiles (first broadcasted in 2005).

Her orchestral playing includes performances with the British Concert Orchestra, Bratislava Chamber Orchestra, English Festival Orchestra, European Chamber Opera, English Sinfonia, The Halle, Welsh National Opera, as well as in the West End show Les Miserables.
