| Tuesday 27 February 2007, 11.30am-5.30pm
Studio ‘Artist Exchange: process, practice and the audience’ was a joint day-long seminar developed by ResCen and Create, The National Development Agency for Collaborative Arts, Ireland in association with NCAD (National College of Art and Design, Ireland). The seminar was the first time that ResCen and Create met together. The focus of the day was on artists’ processes and the ways in which they constitute a field of knowledge. Participating artists interviewed each other to share their strategies and concerns, illuminating commonalities and differences in their work. An additional focus was on the role of the audience in the creative process and how these artists conceived of their audience during the creation of their work. The day was led by Chris Bannerman, Head of ResCen, and Sarah Tuck, Director of Create with guest contributor Brian Maguire, National College of Art and Design Ireland. Create participating artists: Tom Creed, Shane Cullen, Lorraine Gallagher, George Higgs, Alan Phelan, Louise Walsh |
