Thursday 23 November 2006, 6.30pm The Theatre Museum This book launch of ResCen’s major publication Navigating the Unknown: The creative process in contemporary performing arts, published by MU Press, included short presentations by Richard Layzell and Errollyn Wallen about current concerns in their creative processes and how these related to the publication. Chris Bannerman, Head of ResCen remarked that the launch of this publication was a milestone of ResCen’s life. It acted, not as a archive, nor documentation of ResCen’s activities, but rather as an embodiment of the approaches that ResCen has employed and concerns that ResCen artists have investigated over a seven year period. The three central themes that are examined in the book by ResCen artists and guest contributors are: in/tuition, navigating and making manifest. ResCen participating artists: Richard Layzell and Errollyn Wallen, with Ghislaine Boddington, Shobana Jeyasingh, Rosemary Lee, Graeme Miller, Joshua Sofaer and Jane Watt.
