13th September 2002, Norwich Arts Centre, Colchester Arts Centre, ICA This Cluster provided a platform for the public announcement of the Future Physical commissions and productions. Mixing a diversity of music styles with digital performance, a cutting edge blend from DJs, VJs and MJ's (Movement Jockeys) from Norwich, Colchester and London.
Cluster at Norwich Arts Centre, connected to remote audiences at Colchester Arts Centre and the Institute of Contemporary Arts, London for a three-way real-time exchange of live CellBytes – allowing the public, dancers and visuals to interact with each other whilst being web streamed to the general public on line. This unique event placed shinkansen/Future Physical at the forefront of using telematics within large-scale club events with over 1200 people watching the webcast from all over the world and over 1000 in the audiences.
The line up in Norwich included the regions’ hip hop stars Sureshot, visual mixers 2Bit TV, London's eclectic DJ's London Elektricity (Hospital), and the Neutrinos plus in the mix from Colchester and London, commissioned sound performance and audio/visual work including special guests Ambienttv.net and Raya VJ's.
The Future Physical Launch/Cluster is a Future Physical (shinkansen/east england arts) collaboration, hosted by Norwich Arts Centre, Colchester Arts Centre and Institute of Contemporary Arts , with funding assistance from London Arts, streaming media services from Groovy Gecko and in kind sponsorship from Cyberdog and Mr Blinky. |
