| 28th September 2002, HMS President, London Cluster at NightWalking an event that happened across the two days of the NightWalking conference through a group sampling process. Visuals, sounds, movements, atmospheres and energies were gathered from the NightWalking Conference and from London in general, as received, observed and absorbed on 27th and 28th September 2002.
In addition to the audio – visual – movement mix created by the group, several performative interventions took place by artists in the NightWalking event.
Most of the artists involved have been engaged in various projects co-produced by shinkansen across the last few years – the CellBytes series (Arizona, Lisbon, London), the Cluster club series, the Akademi Two Cities Project and Digi-ID project and the Future Physical launch events.
These projects have explored, through shinkansen interauthorship methodologies, the evolution of peer-to-peer connectivity and expanded concepts of identity through the use of digital technologies and global connectivity.
In particular the CellBytes series (co-produced with ResCen) has engaged in the evolution of presence, intimacy and touch through telematics – remote audio-visual realtime connections using the internet.
