| 4th April 2003, The Junction, Cambridge For the Future Physical RESPOND Network Exchange, The CellBytes crew, Raya, 2BitTV and Kingsuk Biswas (Bedouin Ascent) along with Bristol based Socket collaborated again for a specially created performance/web club mix of eclectic sound and visuals integrating live digital performance to create an immersive and enchanting merge of bodies, data and space.
War and Reconciliation are two most recent of the CellBytes series, they are both dual stage performances – performed live at Cluster – Cambridge (during the first stages of the Iraq war – Baghdad attacks) and are the first to have been post edited to create film outcomes.
Content included – human communication – the contrast between the intimate relationship of humane touch and love and the hard-edged relationship of national, religious and racial hatred. The schizophrenic emotion of community caring and community warring that exists in many of the globe’s population today. How can both exist in the same human being at the same time? What impression does this give us of the world today?
Cluster is a shinkansen production in collaboration with Future Physical (shinkansen/East England Arts), London Arts and Groovy Gecko, produced with The Junction for RESPOND. Socket performance with support from Sonic Arts Network. |
